Seems like I'm the first to write an entry about it all, but well... I need to get it off my chest.
Lauri quit Negative. Wow. Didn't see that one coming. I don't want to think about the consequences yet, though losing a guitar player (am I the only one who has to think of Arska when saying that?) is definitely not good. I'm waiting for an official statement by the band. I am very sad about him leaving, I've come to like him quite a lot :( But I hope it's for his best. He will be greatly missed.
Goodbye, Mr Curlyhead *waves*
Also... remember that insect that bit me a few months ago? Seems like it's back. I caught it and had a look at it, sadly I didn't have any tape lying around. It didn't look flea-like at all, more like a tiny fly. I have no clue what it is, but I flushed it down the drain and hope it's not coming back and those three bites on my upper arm and shoulder are the last ones I'll ever get. Gaaaaaah. >.<
Definitely not a good morning. I am quite glad I decided not to go to university. Originally that was because I wanted to continue writing that paper, but somehow I can't focus.
On a happier note, we sent out the Call for Papers for BOBCATSSS 2012 yesterday to 900 people! I am quite proud of that as I collected at least 800 of those addresses myself.

Date: 2011-05-17 12:06 pm (UTC)Hope that was the last insect, for certain. >.< And y'know what to do if you do find another one and you have the tape handy. *hugs*
I keep meaning to ask you what BOBCATSSS is, and forgetting XD But it sounds intriguing! And well done getting all those addresses! :D

Date: 2011-05-17 12:21 pm (UTC)*hugs* I have the tape right next me now... but no more bites so far. And the cream made the bites a bit less itchy, I'm glad I have that one left from last time.
Well, it's an annual symposium on library and information management. Sounds boring, right? It isn't! It's being organized entirely by students (well, we have the support of a few professors because it's all very new to us). My university and two universities from the Netherlands are organizing the 2012-symposium, which will take place in Amsterdam. It's very exciting and lots of fun, though also a lot of work and stress. But I got to meet so many great people through this already and I'm sure there are more to come.
Have a look at www.bobcatsss2012.org :D

Date: 2011-05-17 12:42 pm (UTC)Fingers crossed that was it, then...and glad you've got cream left. Insanely irritating, insect bites. >.<
Ohh, it looks awesome! :D Wish my lot had been involved in something like that. :D But then we don't tend to play well with other countries >.< (although yay for Sheffield for being involved!) :D:D:D

Date: 2011-05-17 01:10 pm (UTC)Awesome :D I really wish there'd been more cooperation with other places when I was on the archive course in London. Although there was barely cooperation with the other UK universities offering the archive course, let alone library-types...let alone people in other countries >.< *sigh* Definitely missed my chance to do stuff abroad. Bah. I hope lots of your UK people will turn up! :D

Date: 2011-05-17 03:41 pm (UTC)So keep cool, breathe easy and think positive, don't let yourself be let down by this. It's all gonna be fine in the end, we won't be able to change it anyway *hugs*
(by the way I am utterly proud of our "new" board, the first thing that sprang to my mind when I read the news on twitter this morning was "Oh no...." cause I remembered the drama we had in January 2008. Funnily enough, it was my birthday, that year and hence I avoided the board as best as I could. But today we don't even have 15 comments and they sounds fairly reasonable. I knew changing a board a hundred times would be good inthe end *g*

YES! I've been thinking that all day. There's a tiny bit of chaos on the official board, but even there people are generally well behaved.
And of course it's all good now, this one is 'my' board :P
